Six years ago, my now husband and I bought a flat in Stoke Newington. It was quite a leap, we’d never lived together before and N16 was new territory for us.

We were lucky: we love our flat, we love the area, and we love each other—in fact, we got married last year.

Our flat and Stoke Newington has changed almost beyond recognition in that time (we’re pretty much the same, give or take a few wrinkles). We’ve redecorated every square inch and the area has gentrified to the point that we wouldn’t be able to afford to live here if we had to buy our flat today. And therein lies the problem. We’re due an upgrade but we simply can’t afford anywhere bigger. We’re going to have to compromise. We’re also going to have to save.

This is our mission to save in style. To secure our future, without compromising the present.

Thank you for reading.
